Pollution and I

Pollution and I
Tick…tock… Tick… tock..

An annoying echo from the depressing nightfall awakened my vague perception. Tick tock.. Tick tock.. Tick tock—a sound produced by an analog clock which also pertained to an interminable worldwide battle against human mind’s invasion.

Tick tock.. tick tock.. tick tock.. I didn’t hear any murmur from above? Perhaps, I became blind with the things that made me satisfied for many times that put me to disregard the different warnings uttered by the surrounding.

Until a noble subconscious reality appeared on my serenity one time--- the moment when I saw a Mother together with children, garbed with trash attire who have been calling for a rescue but constantly ignored.

Tick tock.. Tick tock.. tick tock... they are about to die!!!

The folk rock song, Masdan Mo ang Kapaligiran (by the pinoy band Asin emphasized how our natural locale turned to be a murky palace. Let's sing this music composition without the melody of ignorance.

Dati'y kulay asul ngayo'y naging itim.

Ang mga duming ating ikinalat sa hangin
Sa langit huwag na nating paabutin
Upang kung tayo'y pumanaw man
sariwang hangin sa langit natin matitikman.

Mayron lang akong hinihiling
Sa aking pagpanaw sana ay tag-ulan
Gitara ko ay aking dadalhin
Upang sa ulap na lang tayo magkantahan.

Ang mga batang ngayon lang isinilang
May hangin pa kayang matitikman?

It is an old song concerning to a long interlude of mismanagement and negligence of human being, akin to a continuous flow of story of unawareness and greediness. Now as the "Tick tock" sound invades your equanimity, are you going to put a period (.) to the problem that the song was trying to imply or are you still keeping the ellipsis (...) mark to bring an open-ended chronicle?

The percentage of the wildlife that had been eradicated is increasing due to slackness of using its resources in an improper ways and means that ground to environmental pollution. Air pollution can change the designed structure of an organism throughout the process of precipitation. With this, acid rain will induce which creates adverse impact to some organic beings once directed.

Since toxic in the air react with the moisture to deposit pollutants onto land and water, the dispersion of contaminants became severe resulting to other serious health concerns of both plants and animals, particularly in the sense of their genetic material.

Hazardous pollutants such as ozone, sulphur dioxide and ethylene have specific unconstructive effects on the organisms.  Plant exposed to large amount to these chemicals can develop spots on their leaves, necrosis and discoloration. These also affect the growth hormone and regulatory process that takes place in the plant and results in a number of outward manifestations of infections.

Furthermore, exposure from different toxic chemicals found in pesticide, insecticide, emission gases emitted by automobiles, accidents like oil spill dispersal and industrial waste products could lead alterations to both physical appearance and internal systems of certain organic entities.

On the same way, pollutions will open one more global dilemma, the climate change. Climate is an integral part of ecosystem functioning and human health is impacted directly and indirectly by results of climatic conditions upon terrestrial and marine ecosystems. Due climatic variations, there's a tendency in organisms who suffered severe stress to acquire changes with their structure and facade. This is in order to adapt from the demand of the environment.

There are numerous human-based activities that contribute harm to other life forms. And there also many times that we are conducting these without thinking the possible results to other creatures.

With that occurrence, we can now describe ourselves as the proponents, the organizers and the writers of other's modification and later, our own extinction.

Tick tock.. tick.. tock.. They are waiting for you to change their trash attire!

But is that enough to save their life?
